About the house

House of Prairie Robin began when baker Amira Cole moved from prairie Canada to Doha and missed bread that tasted of time rather than additives. She leased a narrow shop on Cedar Lane, installed a single deck oven, and fed a sourdough starter shipped in a chilled case. The robin on the logo is drawn from memory—the bird that watched her first successful bake through a farmhouse window.

The team now includes three bakers, one pastry chef, and a counter lead who knows every regular’s usual order. We train locally, pay above market for skilled hands, and close Fridays so nobody works seven days in heat. Ingredients prioritize Gulf availability without pretending we can grow Nordic rye here; honesty on labels matters as much as flavor.

We are a bakery first. Seating is two benches outside for coffee brought from elsewhere. If you want a quiet meeting, come at eight before the lunch queue. Wholesale hotel accounts exist but never displace walk-in loaves before ten.
